Theodore Pressley
Owner and lead plasterer
Learned plaster on the old houses of Munjoy Hill and the West End, and started the firm so one crew could look after the whole house.
About us
Pressley Historic Restoration is seven people working out of a shop on Danforth Street in Portland. Theodore Pressley learned plaster on old houses and started the firm so that a house could have its plaster, windows, porch and trim looked after by one crew that talks to each other.
We take on a few houses at a time. That limit is on purpose: it keeps the person who writes your notes on site when the work starts.

A window, a column or a cornice that can be repaired is repaired. We replace only what is past saving, and say so.
Where a part is gone we cut, mill or turn a match to the old profile, and paint it so it doesn't announce itself.
Notes after the visit, an estimate with its exclusions, a change order before any change, and a care note when we leave.
