Before you ask
What we turn down
New houses
We repair and restore. We don't build from the ground up.
Roof replacement
We work on flashings and roof edges where they meet our work. A new roof is for a roofer.
Vinyl and aluminum
We don't install vinyl windows or siding, and we don't cover old wood with either.
Houses outside our area
If your house is on an island or far from Portland, we'll tell you who to ask.
About the work
Do I have to hire you for everything?
No. Many owners hire us for the windows and someone else for the roof. We'll tell you what the work needs and in what order.
Do you work in winter?
Window and plaster work can continue indoors in winter. Exterior painting, masonry and porch work wait for spring.
Can I see examples?
The projects page shows sample work. At the house visit we bring photos of jobs like yours.
Start with the house visit
We look, we write down what we see, then we talk about the work.
